The Animated Series' Creator Is Aware of Your Second Season Bingo Cards — With Some Good News

The much-anticipated second season of the adult animated musical series Hazbin Hotel launches on the streaming platform this week, and fan speculation has been widespread.

Season 1 presents a large cast of personalities residing in Hell and Heaven, sets them at odds accompanied by songs detailing their conflicts, and builds tense rivalries and emotional bonds that drive fan obsession.

The community's expectations for the new season vary widely, but certain themes emerge over and over: Will a fan-favorite character break free from Valentino? Will we find out more about the binding agreement constraining Alastor the Radio Demon? Might certain characters' relationships evolve?

"Naturally, I don't produce the show with fan service as the main goal," the creator stated recently. "However I believe that me being a devotee of the series implies there's a lot of it just naturally. I also want to see these things, and I want some of these things to occur, and obviously some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

She reveals her big-picture plan is for five seasons of Hazbin Hotel. Future installments have already been green-lit by the production companies, which finance the series.

That could imply viewers have to wait years for some of the biggest payoffs — but they could be shocked at how fast season 2 progresses, and how much of what they're anticipating happens this season.

"I feel like people are going to be highly satisfied," the creator notes. "We get some firsts. I think we receive some really amazing reveals, some really cool origin tales, and even just simple things, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] Audiences will experience additional musical numbers from the previously silent cast members."

She's certainly aware of the guesses and hopes about season 2 — especially in the form of audience prediction charts.

"I've come across a couple people make a prediction grid about season 2," she mentions. "Naturally I can't post it, but I've already completed some of them, and almost all of them have almost a bingo. I thought, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that makes me think we accomplish much [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I was like, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that brings me joy."

Hazbin Hotel season 2 premieres on the streaming service on Oct. 29.
