From the very beginning of Campaign 4, recently appointed game master Brennan Mulligan has kept viewers on edge with deep backstory, a diverse cast of personalities, and a thrilling plot including celestial beings, demons, and dark forces expanding in influence within the urban setting.
Heads-up: Key plot points for the latest installment of the new season are included.
The Soldiers Table Revealed
Episode 3 concluded with a major cliffhanger and presented the initial group of adventurers who will separate from the main group to begin their own adventure, apart from the additional parties.
This warrior group features Teor Pridesire (portrayed by the voice actor), the agile character (Laura), the strong-willed figure (the cast member), Wicander Halovar (Sam), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie Daymond).
Dividing the Cast
Given a large ensemble, it was evident from the beginning that keeping everyone at the same party would be unfeasible.
That’s why, the opening chapters of Campaign 4 serve as an Introduction, connecting the personal journeys before branching into three separate parties: Soldiers, Planners, and Seekers.
What Defines the Warrior Group
According to Brennan Lee Mulligan, the combat-focused party is for players who enjoy a traditionally charged fight-heavy narrative style where peaceful solutions are rare.
Upon first impression, characters like the reluctant priest the cleric might appear unsuited, but the actions of the third episode make it clear why these particular heroes are perfectly fit for the Soldiers table.
Why They Must Go
For one thing, the group knows exactly where to proceed after a brutal initial meeting with the enemy group.
A former ally of the deceased character—whose passing initiated the campaign’s events—exploited the foes for his own means, entering Thjazi’s hideout, assaulting the character, and taking all the magical artifacts to sell off.
The antagonist then settled his liabilities and fled to a secure base in Gormalay, Timmony, north of Dol-Makjar, with Teor’s brother close behind.
Personal Motivations
Additionally, each member has a specific drive to exit Dol-Makjar:
- The agile hero, as Thjazi’s partner and closest confidant, desires retribution.
- The knowledgeable figure knows the northern area and advises that it is a nasty environment.
- The warrior and The healer, having disobeyed his relatives’ demands to execute Teor and instead saved him, have nowhere else to go.
- However, their reputation as key figures in the powerful family could help the team enter places they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Furthermore, Teor pledged a unbreakable promise to Wicander for his salvation and will now accompany him wherever.
Pursued by Authorities
In addition, all of them are wanted by the rulers that rule Dol-Makjar for a multiple motives, making staying in the city too risky:
- The rogue and The hero are notorious outlaws.
- The strong figure and The cleric defied House Halovar and the army of fiends they are partnered with.
- Teor is marked for death by House Halovar.
This means them little choice but to travel to the remote area in quest for the antagonist.
